Food for Thought

Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre - Studio

Scotland has a unique farming and land-use history and faces significant challenges with Brexit. The role of farming and how it is shaped and supported is now a key issue for public debate. This talk aims to explain a bit about how we got here and what choices we have if we are to develop a genuine Citizen’s Agricultural Policy. Heather Anderson, together with her husband Pete Ritchie, has been farming organically at Whitmuir for 20 years, pioneering a short supply chain and diversifying the transitional upland farm with farm shop, cafe, butchery and home delivery service.
