The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil

Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre - Auditorium

A ceilidh through Scotland’s past – and present. John McGrath’s legendary 1970 show registered Scottish theatre on the international stage. It tells the story of the exploitation of Scottish lands, waters and people over the centuries and is the universal tale of how the greed of a few blights the lives of many. All told with a generous dose of Scottish rebellion and irreverence with live music and a riotous ceilidh thrown in for a rollicking great night out. Come and experience the story that has a beginning, a middle but, as yet, no end…
