Tweed Theatre presents: This riotous adaptation is set in 1955 as touring
theatre company the Pallas Players are staging Compton Mackenzie’s classic
tale Whisky Galore. Seven players perform thirty roles. Quick changes,
fake facial furniture, bicycles, bird callers and complex props conspire
to manufacture mayhem. The Players rise above it all to transport us to
the Scottish islands of Great and Little Todday where, in the middle of a
whisky shortage, a ship carrying 50,000 bottles of uisge beatha is wrecked
offshore. Can the Home Guard stop the islanders slaking their thirst?
