30 Years On
Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre - Auditorium

On the 19th May 1988, a young(ish) Fred MacAulay made his stand-up debut at the Mayfest ‘So You Think You’re Funny” competition with 5 minutes of his own material. His set, mixing personal family anecdotes and wry observations about society and politics, set the blueprint for a 30 year career that has taken him into television on QI, Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week, and radio with his own show on Radio Scotland , as well as Radio 4’s Newsquiz, Unbelievable Truth and Just A Minute. He has also performed on the live circuit and at Festivals far and wide. “combines a finely tuned comedy radar and genuine geniality.” Sunday Herald
